Business Development Officer – HR Consultancy

Job Purpose: The Business Development Officer in the HR consultancy is responsible for driving the growth of the business by identifying new opportunities, cultivating client relationships, and contributing to the strategic expansion of the consultancy’s client base.
Key Responsibilities:

  1. Client Acquisition & Lead Generation:
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, attending industry events, and leveraging referrals.
    • Qualify leads and engage with potential clients to understand their HR needs, providing tailored solutions.
    • Build and maintain a pipeline of potential business opportunities, ensuring a consistent flow of new prospects.
  2. Client Relationship Management:
    • Establish and nurture long-term relationships with clients to foster trust and loyalty, ensuring continued business opportunities and repeat clients.
    • Serve as the main point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, resolving concerns, and providing high-quality service.
    • Work closely with senior management and HR consultants to ensure client expectations are met and exceeded.
  3. Market Research & Analysis:
    • Conduct market research to understand industry trends, competitor activity, and client needs, identifying opportunities for service differentiation.
    • Analyze market intelligence to provide recommendations for expanding the consultancy’s service offerings and improving client engagement.
    • Stay updated on industry changes and new developments in HR practices, ensuring the consultancy’s services remain competitive and relevant.
  4. Proposal Development & Negotiation:
    • Work with internal teams to create compelling proposals, presentations, and pitches tailored to client needs.
    • Negotiate contracts and pricing, ensuring terms are favorable for both the consultancy and the client.
    • Assist in closing deals and securing contracts, contributing to the consultancy’s revenue growth.
  5. Partnerships & Networking:
    • Develop partnerships with key industry players, influencers, and organizations that could help expand the consultancy’s business network.
    • Attend industry events, conferences, and seminars to build professional networks and increase brand visibility.
    • Collaborate with other business development professionals to share insights, best practices, and market opportunities.
  6. Sales Strategy & Reporting:
    • Assist in the development and execution of the consultancy’s sales strategy, aligning it with organizational goals and objectives.
    • Track and report on business development activities, including lead generation, proposal status, and conversion rates.
    • Provide insights and feedback on sales performance, contributing to the continuous improvement of business development processes.
  7. Client Retention & Upselling:
    • Identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional consultancy services.
    • Ensure clients are satisfied with the consultancy’s services, proactively identifying areas for improvement or expansion.
    • Conduct regular check-ins with existing clients to assess ongoing needs and opportunities for collaboration.
    Requirements:
    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Humanities or a related field.
    • Experience in business development, sales, or account management with a demonstrated track record of achieving targets and driving growth.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage and influence top management executives.
    • Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
    • Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and driven to succeed in a competitive environment.
