Role Summary

As the first point of contact for our bakery and baking academy, you will greet customers, manage the front desk and drive sales. Your responsibilities include promoting cakes and pastries, finding new orders and recruiting clients for our baking classes. You will open and close the bakery each day and must be reliable, trustworthy, confident and highly professional. Compensation includes a base salary plus commission on revenue generated.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reception and customer care: Welcome clients warmly, answer and direct calls and emails, keep the reception area tidy and presentable, and provide accurate information about bakery products and classes.
  • Sales generation: Actively seek new orders for cakes and pastries and identify potential students for the baking academy through walk‑in customers, referrals and outreach. Meet or exceed sales targets and promote services professionally.
  • Order processing and follow‑up: Process customer orders and payments, track each order through production, remind the baking team of pending orders and follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
  • Documentation and reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales and customer interactions, report weekly revenue and feedback to management and help maintain office security and standard procedures.
  • Opening and closing duties: Open the bakery in the morning, ensure everything is ready for business, and secure the premises at closing time.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a reception, sales or customer service role.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; familiarity with point‑of‑sale systems and basic office software.
  • Confident, professional demeanor with excellent communication, organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Trustworthy and detail‑oriented; able to work independently, handle cash and follow security procedures.
  • Motivation to generate sales and attract clients for both bakery products and the baking academy.

2. Job title: Bakery Manager Nutripal Bakery

Overview

We are seeking a hands‑on bakery manager with an intrapreneurial mindset. You will supervise daily operations, lead our team, develop new products and manage the bakery as if it were your own business. This role demands an ability to work under pressure, meet tight production deadlines and bring in new cake business, especially wedding cakes. The manager will work six days per week (including weekends) with a mid‑week day off.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise bakery operations and staff. Oversee the daily activities of bakers and support staff, including hiring, scheduling and training. Create staff schedules, manage payroll, set Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for staff, ensure that staff complete their tasks on time, and report performance to management.
  • Ensure product quality and safety. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery. Ensure that baking tools and equipment are sanitized and that health and safety regulations are followed.
  • Manage inventory and supplies. Track inventory, place orders for supplies and manage cost‑control measures.
  • Develop new products and step in when needed. Create and maintain menus, develop and test new recipes and be ready to step in on the production line during emergencies.
  • Marketing and sales growth. Create and implement marketing and sales strategies to increase revenue; strategically arrange products in displays to encourage purchases. Proactively visit wedding venues once or twice a week to promote our wedding cake services and secure orders.
  • Customer service and problem‑solving. Answer customer inquiries and resolve complaints professionally. Maintain high standards of customer service and identify opportunities to upsell cakes and pastries.
  • Financial and administrative duties. Monitor sales and profit margins, analyze financial reports and adjust production levels accordingly. Prepare budgets, manage cash flow and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Vendor and supplier coordination. Build relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts and ensure timely delivery of quality ingredients and equipment.
  • Compliance and reporting. Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety laws, company policies and regulations. Prepare regular reports for senior management on sales performance, costs, staffing and operational issues.
  • Collaboration and continuous improvement. Coordinate with other departments (marketing, finance, purchasing) to support overall business goals. Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and product quality.
  • Any other duties assigned by management. Perform other tasks or responsibilities as needed to support the bakery’s success.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing a bakery or foodservice operation is required.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to inspire and manage a diverse team.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills; ability to develop schedules, manage inventory and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to work early mornings, evenings and weekends. The role is six days per week with a day off during the week.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to handle complaints and inquiries gracefully.
  • Demonstrated ability to generate ideas, market new products and grow revenue (particularly wedding cake sales); comfortable visiting wedding venues and negotiating orders.

Performance and appraisal

Performance will be measured on operational efficiency and business growth. Key indicators include:

  • Timely completion of production schedules and orders (e.g., specialty or wedding cakes).
  • Growth in cake sales and overall revenue, with particular focus on wedding cakes.
  • Achievement of set revenue targets and year‑on‑year increase in total sales.
  • Staff performance against KPIs, staff morale and retention.
  • Inventory management (minimal spoilage and accurate stock levels).
  • Customer satisfaction and complaint resolution time.
  • Adherence to budgets and cost‑control targets.
