Job Title: Accountant

Job duties:
- Financial Management & Reporting
- Prepare and consolidate financial statements, management reports, and budgets for the hotel.
- Monitor daily revenue, expenses, and cash flows, ensuring accurate reconciliations.
- Conduct monthly and quarterly variance analysis to support decision-making.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process supplier invoices, staff claims, and ensure timely payments.
- Monitor receivables and follow up to minimize outstanding balances.
- Maintain proper records of creditors and debtors for the hotel.
- Payroll & Compliance
- Prepare monthly payroll and statutory deductions (NSSF, PAYE and other applicable taxes).
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, audits, and internal financial policies.
- Maintain proper documentation for statutory and external audits.
- Internal Controls & Systems
- Implement and monitor internal control systems to prevent fraud and errors.
- Conduct periodic stock counts (food, beverages, and consumables) and reconcile with records.
- Support digitalization of accounting and reporting systems.
- Support to Management
- Advise hotel management on cost-saving opportunities and financial performance trends.
- Assist in financial planning, cash flow projections, and investment analysis.
- Provide financial insights to guide operational and strategic decisions.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with at least CPA Level 2.
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience including in the hospitality industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally etc).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- High integrity, confidentiality.
